Our Story 🤍

Like any good modern love story, theirs started with a swipe! Brian and McKenna matched on a dating app in 2022, and after a few great conversations, Brian decided to take a chance and hop on a plane to meet her. He was so nervous about their first date that he actually made himself a little nauseous (something they still laugh about today). Thankfully, dinner at Oak Steakhouse went well, and by December 31, 2022, Brian had asked McKenna to be his girlfriend. Not a bad way to ring in the New Year!

Their love story quickly became one of new cities, adventures, and a whole lot of frequent flyer miles. In February 2023, McKenna moved to Nashville and made her first trip to Kansas City to visit Brian in his hometown. What followed was years of long-distance dating, countless FaceTime calls, and Brian hopping on a plane nearly every month to visit.

When Brian's career took him to Arizona, the two made the most of the distance, exploring Sedona and hiking the Grand Canyon together. By December 2023, another career move brought Brian to Colorado, while McKenna eventually made her way back to Georgia. Despite never living in the same state, they continued finding new places to explore and making memories along the way.

Of course, long-distance wasn't always easy. Between Brian's monthly flights, never quite knowing when the next visit would be, and wondering when they'd finally end up in the same state, there was plenty of uncertainty. But through it all, they continued choosing each other, making memories wherever they could, and finding little ways to make the distance feel smaller.

In June 2025, Brian planned a beautiful picnic at Buford Dam. What McKenna thought was just another sweet morning together turned into one of the happiest days of their lives when Brian got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course, she said YES!

After more than three years of living in different states, they finally closed the distance in February 2026 and moved to Woodstock, Georgia, to begin building their life together. These days, their adventures look a little different. Between running a small business together, cozy nights at home, and plenty of bunny snuggles, they've discovered that some of their favorite moments are the simplest ones.

Looking back, it's funny to think that one swipe, one very nervous first date, and a whole lot of plane tickets brought them here. Every mile and every goodbye was worth it.

Now, instead of counting down the days until their next visit, they're counting down to the day they say "I do!"
